Argos Adonis Awakens is a romantic and timeless Eau de Parfum inspired by John William Waterhouse's iconic painting, blending bright citrus, delicate florals, creamy woods, and sensual rose absolute to create a provocative and emotionally moving scent. Adonis Awakens is part of the Argos Fragrances Artist Series II and draws its inspiration from John William Waterhouse, the celebrated English painter known for his Pre-Raphaelite style and his devotion to Greek mythology. His artwork The Awakening of Adonis beautifully captures the moment when love, loss, and rebirth intertwine. According to ancient legend, Adonis, the god of beauty, desire, and renewal, met a tragic fate during a hunt. As he lay dying, Aphrodite rushed to him, only to cut herself on a thorn. Her blood transformed the once white rose, symbol of purity and love, into a crimson bloom. A kiss from the goddess awakened Adonis, creating a cycle of eternal life and passion that inspired poets and artists for centuries. Argos Adonis Awakens embodies this myth with a fragrance that is both poetic and irresistible. It opens with Bright Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Pink Peppercorn. The heart unfolds into a romantic bouquet of Bulgarian Rose, Sambac Jasmine, Vanilla, Raspberry, and Chestnut. The base settles into Mysore Sandalwood, Cashmere Wood, and Rose Absolute that deliver depth, warmth, and sensuality.
