Karen was rescued by the Beluga Whale Sanctuary in 2013 as a puffling suffering from a hip injury. Because of this she has difficulties walking but she is a very capable swimmer an d spends most of her time in the pool, and was the first one to test it out when they arrived at ‘Puffin Island’. Unfortunately, her hip injury has now progressed to arthritis, causing her to have a permanent limp, so she can often be seen flapping her wings when walking for balance. Karen now resides at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary with our other rescued puffins. Show more
