Hello Carlo and Nancy, I finally managed to fly the Epsilon 6 today... first in a 15-18 mph north-westerly... [then] before sunset when the wind had dropped a bit, although still gusty. I find it difficult comparing wings when the loading is different [e.g. compared to my current wing]. However, the 26m Epsilon 6 is great flown at 88 kg all up. Ground handling is impeccable. It seems to come up with only the slightest movement of the A's, and is very easy to keep overhead. Even on the ground it wants to cut through the air, making it easy to get a good run for take-off. In the air, penetration into wind is much better than on a heavily loaded Pulsar [my current wing], which surprised me a bit. It feels more like the Onyx [a previous wing I used to fly], and wants to cut through the air, whereas the Pulsar (both lightly and heavily loaded) seems to add a lot more vertical movement. Brake pressure is slightly heavier than the Pulsar, but it likes flying with less brake, which makes it easier. Because of the way it cuts through the air, it is much easier to position than the Pulsar: you get where you want without any surprises. It's a bit more damped, but feedback is still good. Pitch control is different [to the Pulsar] due to the change in brake pressure, but that just needs a little practice. If I get another chance to fly it in gentler conditions I'll try being a little more adventurous. Landing in the strong wind was interesting. After getting one toe on the ground I was hoiked up a couple of times, but only slightly off the ground, making it very easy to keep my footing and bring the wing down as soon as I got two feet on the ground. I certainly had enough time on it today, to know that I want one: it just feels right for me. It's by far the nicest wing I've ever flown.
