Advanced Garment Fitting Even the most size-inclusive pattern is not a bespoke drafted pattern for your unique body. As you advance in your garment sewing journey, you’ll find that fitting your chest or bust can be a challenge if it differs from the commonly provided options. In this class, you’ll bring a darted bodice or top pattern to apply the adjustment to, and we’ll walk through measuring, mathing, and applying the adjustment you need so you can confidently tackle these adjustments in future projects! We’ll Cover Things Like: When to make a chest or bust adjustment Pattern adjustment basics, such as measuring yourself and your pattern truing seams calculating dressmaker’s cup size How to do adjustments: SBA, FBA, and removing volume for a post-surgery chest Approaching fitting with a compassionate, body-neutral mindset This class is great for intermediate to advanced sewists. Knowledge of general garment construction is necessary for this course. Students should have made 3-5 garments completely on their own before taking this class.
