The wind can be fierce, strong, or else soft and caressing. It can whistle in your ears, bring the aromas of nearby flowers, bring the sand of the deserts, or it can shout and demand all your attention and your care. The pieces on this CD have the names of winds: winds of the Mediterranean, of the high North and of the deep South. Winds that tell you to stay home, or else to go out and confront yourself to the world. This music accompanies you – or, better said – provokes all these different moods, enhances your good or bad vibes. You cannot hold the wind, and you cannot really describe it: the great filmmaker Joris Ivens made a film –his last when he was already 90 years old– about the wind… he went to China looking for a possibility to describe the wind… And once and again he would state the impossibility to depict it. In this music, Matthias Bauer on bass and Floros Floridis on reeds share a dialogue, sometimes hard, sometimes soft… always looking for the other one, hearing the other one, looking to sublate and keep the best of each other. You will find yourself swearing or dreaming, but always in the middle of a storm of music that comes from the authenticity of these two musicians. Der Wind kann heftig und stark oder weich und streichelnd sein. Er kann in deinen Ohren dröhnen, den Duft von nahen Blumen herüberwehn, den Sand der Wüsten bringen, oder er kann schreien und all deine Aufmerksamkeit und deine Zuwendung verlangen. Die Stücke dieser CD haben die Namen der Winde: Winde des Mittelmeers, des hohen Nordens und des tiefen Südens. Winde, die einem sagen, man soll zu Hause bleiben oder hinausgehen und sich der Welt stellen. Diese Musik begleitet den Zuhörer und provoziert all diese verschiedenen Stimmungen, erhöht gute oder schlechte Schwingungen. Man kann den Wind nicht halten, und man kann ihn nicht wirklich beschreiben: Der große Filmemacher Joris Ivens machte einen Film – sein letzter, als er schon 90 Jahre alt war – über den Wind… er ging nach China und suchte nach einer Möglichkeit, den Wind zu beschreiben… Und immer wieder stellte er die Unmöglichkeit fest, ihn darzustellen. In dieser Musik teilen sich Matthias Bauer am Bass und Floros Floridis mit Reeds einen Dialog, der manchmal hart, manchmal weich ist… immer auf der Suche nach dem Anderen, den Anderen hörend, das Beste von einander aufbewahrend. Der Zuhörer kann dabei fluchen oder träumen, aber immer wird er sich mitten in einem Sturm von Musik befinden, ein Sturm, der aus der Authentizität dieser beiden Musiker kommt.
