African Violets are charming, small flowering plants known for their vibrant blooms and lush, velvety foliage. They make perfect indoor plants due to their compact size and the var iety of colors they come in, from deep purples to bright pinks and pristine whites. Light Needs: African Violets thrive in bright, indirect light. They should be placed near a window with filtered sunlight or under fluorescent lights. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch their leaves. Water Needs: Keep the soil of your African Violet consistently moist but not soggy. Water them from the bottom by placing the pot in a shallow dish of water for about 20-30 minutes, allowing the plant to absorb water through the drainage holes. Let the top of the soil dry out slightly between waterings. Humidity Needs: African Violets prefer a humid environment, ideally with humidity levels around 50-60%. You can increase humidity by placing the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and water, ensuring the pot is above the water line, or by using a room humidifier. Show more
