Agave 'Crazy Horse' is an amazing large-growing, winter hardy century plant, that has thrived for us since 2006, enduring 7 degrees F, once established. Our plant comes from Texan Shawn Stegent, who discovered it growing at a Montgomery County, Texas real estate office around 2000. For us, our quarter century old patch has produced 3.5' tall x 5' wide rosettes that offset quite fast, but remain tightly clustered around the base. The 9" wide, flat, blue-green, deeply-lobed, dorsally-banded leaves are particularly architectural. Based on observations by plantsman Daniel Serrano, we now believe Agave 'Crazy Horse' to be a hybrid of Agave cupreata and Agave asperrima. Show more
