From the high-altitude, volcanic soils of Avellino in the Campania region, comes this Aglianico which is full and intense, bursting with ripe dark berries and cherry fruit, it carries a hint of liquorice, complemented by savoury, spicy notes of leather and pepper. The wine has depth, with exceptional fruit purity and a smooth, velvety mouthfeel. The Lapilli family, with a winemaking tradition dating back to the 1960s, plays a crucial role in crafting wines that are both varietally and regionally expressive. Their small estate is known for producing exquisite, affordable wines that capture the essence of Campania. Beneventano IGT is an appellation in Campania, where the red variety Aglianico thrives. The vineyards, situated at an elevation of 400 meters above sea level on the hills surrounding Avellino, benefit from the unique terroir. After hand-harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and undergo a maceration process on the skins for 12-15 days, with periodic stirring to ensure optimal extraction of anthocyanins and tannins. The wine then undergoes both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel vats with selected yeasts. It is matured on the lees for one month, followed by an additional two months of aging, before being filtered and bottled.
