They are designed to be epoxied on, but can also be welded onto an aluminum pipe. They have a channel machined around the perimeter of the underside to allow excess epoxy to flow into and “lock in” the bung. Overlap the tape to protect the surrounding area. Step 2: Mark Perimeter and Opening Mark the perimeter and the rectangular opening of the MAF Sensor Bung onto the tape using a pen. Step 3: Drill Holes and Rough Cut Remove the MAF Sensor Bung from the tube. Drill holes about 7/16" in diameter at either end of the rectangular opening. Roughly cut the length of the rectangular opening using a Dremel or small diameter cut-off wheel. Step 4: File and Sand File the opening to its final size with a file (slightly larger than the opening). Sand the edge smooth with 320 grit sandpaper. Cut the masking tape just inside the perimeter line with an X-acto knife. Step 5: Prepare for Adhesive Sand the area inside the perimeter and the underside of the boss with 60 grit sandpaper to provide adhesive grip. Step 6: Apply Adhesive Use an industrial adhesive like Panel Bond. Apply the adhesive to the underside of the boss. Press the MAF Sensor Bung into place, paying attention to the arrow indicating airflow direction. Wipe off any excess glue that squeezes out. Step 7: Secure Boss in Place Hold the MAF Sensor Bung in place with tape until the adhesive significantly sets. Note: Do not use nuts or other hardware on the inside of the tube to avoid the risk of them coming loose and getting drawn into the engine. document.getElementById("shippingBox").addEventListener("click", function() { var content = document.getElementById("content"); var arrow = document.getElementById("arrow"); // Toggle content visibility if (content.style.display === "none" || content.style.display === "") { content.style.display = "block"; arrow.innerHTML = "▲"; // Change arrow direction } else { content.style.display = "none"; arrow.innerHTML = "▼"; // Change arrow direction } });
