My ceramic airplant holders are thrown on my potters wheel. I then trim them to shape and carve holes before bisque firing them. They are then glazed and go through a glaze firing. The whole process which takes approximately 4 weeks from first wedging the clay to the final fire. All my items are perfectly imperfect which adds to the handmade nature. The ceramic section is approximately 2-3”. 1 air plant is included and will be supplied at random. Airplants are a relatively low maintenance plant that doesn’t require soil to grow. In their native environment airplants are able to live from the humidity in the air, which is where their name derives from. Airplants have little fuzzy grey/white hairs on their leaves which are called trichomes. They use these trichomes to get needed nutrients from the air around them. They do need some care though as the humidity in their native areas is much higher than our homes. How to care for airplants? Spray your airplant regularly / soak your airplant. During winter they only need misting every couple of weeks, or weekly during the summer months. Put your airplant in a bright spot, preferably with air circulation as it needs to dry off after watering Protect your airplant from frosts. Protect your airplant from direct sunlight (indirect sunlight is the best) One airplant holder will be supplied per purchase - pictures of the group of holders are for illustrative purposes!
