The AJ Table Lamp is Arne Jacobsen's 1957 design for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen: an asymmetric, tiltable shade on a slim steel stem, balanced by the distinctive disc foot with its circular cut-out. The white-painted inner shade drops focused, glare-free light exactly where you need it. Jacobsen designed the hotel as a total work of art, and the AJ family shares its leaning profile with the Swan and Egg chairs created for the same interiors. Louis Poulsen has produced it ever since. It is the rare task lamp that works as sculpture — on a desk, hallway console or bedside table, with the switch conveniently on the base. Browse more table lamps or the full Arne Jacobsen collection. Light source: E27 (E26 compatible), 1 bulb, max 20 W. IP20, indoor. Bulb not included — we recommend an E27 LED (6–6.5 W, 810 lm), 2700 K.
