AK9009 is made for thicker non-metallic stock: plastic, PVC, resin and ABS parts or rods below 4 mm. Its plier format places the cutting head directly above the grips for controlle d bench work on those materials. The limit is as important as the capacity: AK expressly instructs users not to cut metal parts with this tool. A spring return reopens the plier after each cut.
