Akai MPC Sample
Akai Professional MPC Sample Portable Standalone Sampler The Akai Professional MPC Sample brings the iconic MPC sampling workflow into a compact, portable instrument built for mode rn beatmakers, producers and live performers. Inspired by the classic MPC60, it combines standalone sampling, sequencing, effects and performance tools with 16 RGB backlit MPC pads, a full-colour display and an internal rechargeable battery. Record sounds through the built-in microphone, stereo audio inputs or USB-C, then chop, edit, sequence and process them without needing a computer or DAW. With more than 100 factory kits, 60 onboard effects, microSD expansion and up to five hours of battery life, the MPC Sample is ready for spontaneous ideas, studio production and portable music creation. The MPC Sample carries that workflow into a smaller and more accessible format while retaining the hands-on approach that makes MPC production distinctive. The compact layout keeps sampling, pad performance, sequencing and effects control within immediate reach. Whether you are creating a complete beat, capturing an unexpected sound or developing an idea away from the studio, the MPC Sample is designed to make the creative process fast and direct. Sample from Almost Anywhere Capture sounds through the internal microphone, stereo 6.35mm audio inputs or USB from compatible Mac, Windows, iOS and Android devices. Threshold-controlled sampling can begin recording automatically when the input reaches the selected level, while fixed-length recording helps create accurately timed loops. Each individual sample can run for up to 20 minutes, giving you room to record musical phrases, vocals, field recordings and longer pieces of audio. The built-in Recall Recording function can also recover up to 30 seconds of recent audio or pad performance, helping save ideas that happened before recording was activated. Fast and Flexible Sample Editing Instant Sample Chop mode provides a quick route from recorded audio to playable pads. Advanced editing tools include traditional chopping, lazy chopping, automatic snapping, real-time looping and warping. Real-time time-stretching and repitching make it possible to reshape samples for different tempos and musical ideas. Internal resampling can capture processed sounds with effects, allowing new textures and variations to be created without external software. 16 Expressive RGB MPC Pads The MPC Sample features 16 RGB backlit, velocity-sensitive MPC pads with polyphonic aftertouch. Their smaller format preserves the familiar 4 × 4 MPC layout while helping keep the complete instrument compact and portable. The pads can be used for sample triggering, finger drumming, sequencing and expressive performance. Colour illumination supports visual organisation, while velocity and aftertouch respond to the dynamics of your playing. Standalone MPC Sequencing The onboard MPC sequencer provides 960 pulses per quarter note and includes real-time swing for adjusting the rhythmic feel of a performance. Each project can hold 16 samples across eight banks and 16 sequences across eight banks, with no stated limit on the total number of projects. Classic MPC tools include Note Repeat, Song mode and fast one-touch recording functions. Song mode makes it possible to arrange sequences into a complete structure and export the finished arrangement. 60 Onboard Effects A collection of 60 effects covers Pad FX, Knob FX, Flex Beat and Color Compressor processing. Four internal effects processors and three dedicated real-time knobs provide immediate hands-on control. Effects can be routed to the main output, external input or individual pads. External sources can be processed in real time, and Knob FX can be recorded directly into incoming audio for immediate creative sound design. Built for Portable Music Creation The integrated lithium-ion battery provides approximately five hours of continuous playback, although actual battery life varies depending on the functions being used. A built-in microphone supports quick sampling, while the internal 3W speaker provides convenient standalone monitoring. At just 0.92kg, the MPC Sample is easy to carry between home, studio and live environments. It can be powered through USB-C from a compatible computer, wall adapter or power bank capable of supplying 5V and 2A. Storage and Computer Integration The internal 8GB drive includes approximately 2GB of factory content, including more than 100 kits. Storage can be expanded using a microSD card, and SD card files can be accessed from a Mac or PC through the USB-C connection. Supported import formats include WAV, MP3, AIF, AIFF, SND, S1S, S3S, FLAC and OGG. Imported files can use 16-bit or 24-bit resolution at 44.1, 48 or 96kHz. Internal recording operates at 24-bit and 44.1kHz, with processing at 44.1kHz using 32-bit floating point. Flexible Audio, MIDI and Sync Connectivity Two 6.35mm TRS inputs support microphone-level and line-level audio sources, while two 6.35mm TRS outputs connect the MPC Sample to mixers, interfaces, speakers and other compatible equipment. A 3.5mm stereo headphone output is also included. Type-A MIDI input and output are provided through 3.5mm TRS connections. A separate 3.5mm TRS CV/Gate sync output supports configurable sync rates for integration with compatible electronic instruments and modular equipment. The USB-C port supports power, audio input and output, MIDI input and output, and access to files stored on the microSD card.
