Depth of the outlet plus the back pressure on the pump will vary, so your situation may produce different results. But a general rule of thumb is to get a pump that provides 1 liter of air per minute per outlet at 1 psi. An open airline with allow more lines while an airstone will put more pressure on the pump. And box filters and sponges will create more pressure still. Also, clogged airstones and filters will also limit the performance of any air pump. When in doubt, go up a pump size.
