Al Hayya is a magazine that publishes literary and visual content on the works, interests and strife of women, bilingually in Arabic and English. Historically subjected to land the ft, forced migration, and displacement, the question of land and belonging blends with the daily life of the Arab people, as well as other populations who have likewise suffered the impact of colonization. What complexity does this question carry in relation to gender, migration, land sovereignty, livelihood, and being? In the second issue of Al Hayya, we attempt to tackle the intersection between the individual’s body and that of the land that carries it.
