Integrate legacy with modern paging systemsThe 8305 has three key connection points: a telephone port that emulates an analog telephone, an 8 Ω output that can connect to self-amplified speakers, and a line output. As a SIP-compliant device, the 8305 makes it possible to connect existing legacy paging systems to VoIP or UCaaS platforms. The 8305 is also multicast capable enabling legacy systems to be used alongside IP devices. Important Connection Notes Does Not Connect to FXS Ports: The Algo 8305 is not designed to connect to an FXS port on a phone system. Attempting to do so will not work and may cause compatibility issues. The Algo 8305 is not an ATA. The Algo 8305 does not support two-way communication. It provides one-way audio path to the legacy paging system. Technical OperationPower and Signaling: The Algo 8305 receives 48V power from the paging system via the Talk Battery port. It emulates an off-hook condition, signaling the paging system that a call has been initiated. DTMF and Voice Transmission:Once connected, the 8305 can pass DTMF tones and supports one-way voice communication for announcements or alerts.Schedule and automateUsing the web interface, you can schedule announcements to play automatically. Set up is easy no matter if you want to schedule single or multiple events such as bells, safety reminders, or holiday announcements.
