Built from carefully shaped samples and live instrumentation, it unfolds as a slow-burning journey rather than a collection of standalone cuts - not something to be sniped at in this age of instant gratification and ever shorter tracks. 'Touch of Gold' sets the tone with a playful switch-up, while 'All I Have to Say' drifts in a hazy groove that nods to J Dilla. Elsewhere, 'Now, Pause...' brings spoken word depth from Ursula Rucker. Patient, detailed and richly textured stuff from this fine Dutch producer, multi-instrumentalist and drummer.
