Aldehyde C-8 (Octanal) is intensely orange zest in scent and provides lift and natural citrus notes to fragrances. It is particularly helpful in functional fragrances when natural citrus oils may be too delicate for the base material. Use tiny amounts to add a waxy and fresh quality to your top notes, or dose it slightly higher for a very distinctly orange character. As with all true aldehydes, we recommend dilution in an alcohol upon receipt of this product. Ethyl alcohol is the most commonly used for this purpose, but others such as phenyl ethyl alcohol or benzyl alcohol are also suitable. Show more
