Most of my writing is born of improvisation, usually at the guitar but sometimes at the piano.Ideas come then I sculpt away endlessly until all is done. Here I began in a festive s pirit with dancy colourful themes drifting in and out of the popular flamenco palo Alegrias, which inspired the title. Hidden in the 12/8 compas, the opportunity for a waltz tickled my ear and I discovered a pretty cross string theme sounding much like a harp which flowed gently before reving up the Alegrias once more and heading for home with a little flamenco drama to end.
