Contrary to what the name would have you believe, an alembic is not a fancy style of beer, although it is related to alcoholic beverages. An alembic is an alchemical still, used sp ecifically for distilling, that consists of two vessels connected by a tube. Using the powers of heat and condensation, it distills liquids easily in a very fun, small-scale fashion. Alembics are also an ancient version of the pot still, which is what is used in modern times to make distilled beverages like vodka, gin, or whiskey.
