Designed in 1985 by Postmodernist master Michael Graves, the Kettle is one of the best-selling Alessi designs in the world.The 9093 Kettle is distinguished by its contrast of mater ials—mirror-polished stainless steel and a blue plastic handle—rivet details near the bottom and, of course, the iconic bird-shaped whistle that sings when your water has reached a boil.For this kettle, Graves employed his Postmodernist visual language: the design combines influences from European and American Pop art, and pre-Columbian cultures. How to use: It can be used on any type of cooktop, including induction. Do not heat while kettle is empty or allow it to boil dry.
