A captivating and atmospheric oil on canvas by Dutch-Swedish artist Adrian van Arkel (1924–2006), depicting a vibrant semi-abstract view of Alicante, Spain. Painted with bold geome tric forms and energetic brushwork, the composition captures the sunlit architecture and hillside setting of the historic city while reflecting Van Arkel’s distinctive modernist style. Born in Leiden, the Netherlands, he settled in Sweden in 1953 and developed a respected artistic career, with works represented in the collection of the Stockholm County Council.
