The Alien Bees ABR800 is a powerful ring light that can be used on a tripod or a light stand. This light includes a camera mounting platform that can be configured to work with nea rly any camera, allowing "shoot through" use with lenses that have an outer diameter of 10cm or less. This is not a portable device: it prefers to be on a stand, and it plugs into the wall. Overpowered for most macro shooting, too. But for studio use? Excellent.
