This Alien quilt pattern is an out of this world boy quilt pattern. My neighbor called it the purple people eater. As I already have a Monster pattern I have named this quilt patte rn Alien. I just love his toothy grin. It is made with large pieces making it a great pattern for beginning quilters. It is a pattern to truly let the imagination soar when choosing your fabric. I choose to make the colors in the fun border fabric I had found. * 3 sizes: The main instruction is for the Crib size 36"x42", with additional pages for a smaller 24”x28” and larger 48"x56". With the multiple sizes this quilt is a great one for baby and/or big brother. I have seen some fun sibling combos. Just add borders and make it a twin for big brothers bed. The scraps can be used to make a fun strip pillow to match. *Skill Level: Beginner. The pattern uses charts telling you how many strips to cut for each color. Then another set of charts giving the length of the pieces. The shaping is done using quick corner triangles, or the "snowball method". Once the pieces are cut you just follow a full page color image "map" showing how the pieces go together using your alphabetically labeled pieces. If you can sew a true 1/4 inch seam you can put this quilt top together. Show more
