The Alinco EDX-3 is the successor to the popular EDX-2, offering a more compact and lighter design while expanding compatibility across a wider range of Alinco transceivers. Built from weather-resistant plastic, it is suitable for mobile, portable, and base station operation. Primary compatibility is with the Alinco DX-SR8E and DX-SR9E, and it also supports older models including the DX-70, DX-77, DX-701, DX-707, and DX-801. Frequency coverage starts at 1.6 MHz with antennas of 12m or longer, or 3.5 MHz with antennas of 7m or longer. Up to 250 memory locations allow ~1-second recall on previously tuned frequencies, with standard tuning completing in 2–3 seconds.
