Artist Statement: The 'Garden Series' came about after a move from inner city Sydney to the Blue Mountains, to a house with an established, though overgrown cool climate garden. Th e hours spent clearing out, pruning and feeding the garden began to affect my work which took on, almost subconsciously, the colour and organic shapes of the blossoms from our first Spring in the house. All the Senses– This work was inspired by the bright white light falling on the branches of a nearby azalea bush and a carpet of spent blooms – if you like, an abstract representation of abundance.
