The Allium tuberosum also known as Garlic Chives, Oriental Garlic, Asian Chives, Chinese Chives or Chinese Leek, is a simple yet enchanting allium with loose umbels of star-shaped pure-white flowers. The Chinese Leek is an autumn bulb and as such does best when planted later in the year from September to December. The allium will then produce its simple, but stunning blooms throughout summer. The Allium tuberosum does best when planted about 10cm deep in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny area of the garden.
