2018's Perennial Plant of the Year, the Millenium Allium is deer/rabbit resistant and easily grown in well drained soil. The striking pink/purple 2" bulbs pair well with both warm and cool colors in the garden. The unique and highly symmetrical shape provide outstanding match for the light airy textures of grass or more dense flowering perennials. The plants grow between 15 and 20" inches tall and form dense clumps making them well suited for background or middle ground plantings. Blooms come on in midsummer from July the early September and are irresistible to hummingbirds, butterflies and other pollinators. Outside of the blooming season these ornamental onions form beautiful green clumps that do well to highlight the blooms of other plants. We recommend grouping of 3-5 plants, which plants out around 1.5 to 2.5 square ft. for area of dense green upright foliage and bold splash of bright purple summer color. Show more
