Patricia Urquiola's Almendra takes its name from the almond, a form that suggests softness and natural geometry. The lamp's character, however, is defined by discipline. A tubular aluminium body, finished in matte or metallized surfaces, meets CNC-machined terminals that enforce an exactness at every joint, every endpoint. At the heart of Almendra is Flos's Edge Lighting technology. Light-emitting units rotate in 60-degree increments, allowing the system to shift between linear arrangements and free-form compositions within the same fixture. The lamp adapts to the geometry of a space rather than asserting its own.
