The foliage is broad, glossy, and a soft shade of green, overlaid with creamy-white veins that branch and intersect like a hand-drawn map. While it shares the general growth habit of its parent species—upright, elephant-ear-style foliage and thick petioles—‘Batik’ is especially admired for the contrast and graphic texture in its leaves. This cultivar tends to stay more moderate in size indoors compared to some of the larger Alocasia species, but still commands attention when grown well.
