Pale spots cross the smooth blades, an d sharp cream to reddish teeth give every leaf a strongly defined edge.Young centre growth is usually greener and held upright. The outer leaves broaden, curve and develop the richest red tones as the rosette matures. New offsets form close to the original plant and eventually create a spreading colony, allowing fresh green leaves and hardened crimson foliage to remain visible together.
