Alpaca wool is luxuriously soft and so flexible making them the most comfortable type of dreadlock extension. They are double ended allowing you to braid them in for temporary wear or use them to permanently lengthen existing dreadlocks. Alpaca wool is free from lanolin making them hypoallergenic. SIZE: Dreadlocks measure approximately 50cm / 20" when folded, they are approximately 6-8mm wide. COLOUR/DYING: The colours available will appear in the drop down box. If you want a mix of colours, please select Blend and leave a comment with the colours you want and how many of each. Regular hair dyes can be used - always test one dreadlock first to ensure you're happy with the results. WEAR & CARE: Our wool dreadlocks will last indefinitely and if braided in, can be worn for many weeks and even months at a time, depending on how quickly your hair grows. Alpaca fibre is prized for its exceptionally soft, silky texture. Because of its natural properties, it may shed more than other wools, such as Merino, particularly during the first few washes. In our experience, this shedding typically settles within the first few weeks of wear. Shampoo your dreadlocks as normal and rinse thoroughly. Squeeze excess moisture out using a towel and allow to air dry in full before tying them up. HOW MANY DO I NEED FOR A FULL HEAD? The size of your head will ultimately determine the number of dreadlocks but given their thickness and being double enders, most people will need 30 extensions (equivalent to 60 dreadlocks once folded and installed). INSTALLATION: Wool dreadlocks can be braided into sections of your own hair or crocheted to the bottom of existing dreadlocks to add instant length. Please see our video tutorials demonstrating installation here.
