Silicon Carbide Sandpaper for Stone Polishing Alpha® Sandpaper Discs combine a silicon carbide abrasive with waterproof hook-and-loop backing for sanding and polishing marble and softer natural stone. Available in 4" and 5" diameters, the discs provide a practical abrasive system for fabrication, tile work, restoration, and other surface-finishing applications. Wet and Dry Sanding Applications The waterproof construction allows the discs to be used wet, where they resist clogging to extend abrasive life, while still allowing dry use when required. Alpha® Sandpaper is suited for marble, travertine, terrazzo, and onyx and can also be used for polishing glass, metal, and wood or multi-purpose sanding of Bondo, primer, and paint. Hook-and-Loop Discs for Fast Grit Changes The hook-and-loop backing allows quick disc changes when progressing through multiple grits during sanding and polishing. The discs are available in #80, #120, #240, #320, #400, #500, and #600 U.S. CAMI grits, along with assortment options, with each variant supplied in a box of 50 discs. Backer Pad Compatibility and Final Polishing Alpha® Sandpaper Discs can be paired with Alpha standard backer pads or the GV5000 backer pad. For applications requiring an additional high-gloss finishing step, Alpha recommends completing the polishing process with an Alpha Felt Wheel and buffing compound.
