About the Alpine S2-S65C It's time for high-res We're big fans of Alpine's push to give more drivers access to high-res audio in the car. Using technology developed for their flagship F#1 Status Series, Alpine's Next Generation S-Series car speakers provide access to all the wonderous detail of your favorite high-resolution audio files at an appealing price. We recommend aftermarket power to drive these speakers, but even with factory power, their ultra-wide frequency response ensures a detailed, authentic sound. Innovative materials Alpine packs supreme capability into these speakers by using highly effective materials and proprietary design elements. The lightweight woofer cone, crafted from polypropylene, glass fiber, and mica materials, serves up the essential high output/low distortion sound required for high-res performance. The High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) surround brings out the best in bass by allowing maximum cone movement. A separate 1" cloth dome tweeter serves up all the high-frequency detail you've been missing with factory sound. Because tweeters can be challenging to install, Alpine provides in-line crossover systems and a threaded removable housing to make sure you have what you need to make them sound their best. Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications. Optional grilles are available for custom installations. Given their required cutout, they will also fit some standard 6½" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a variety of standard 3-hole 6½" applications, Ford 4-hole 6½" applications, and non-standard 6¾" applications, without any modification. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit. Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters can be flush mounted using the supplied flush mount brackets and rings. Once mounted, the tweeters can swivel approximately 20° for optimum imaging. The tweeters can also be mounted in factory tweeter locations behind factory tweeter grilles using the supplied stealth mounting brackets. (The stealth brackets have a multitude of tabs used for different mounting configurations. When not needed, the tabs are easily removed. The factory location measurements in the chart below are generally minimums, with some tabs removed.) The terminals on each tweeter wire easily plug into the tweeter and corresponding woofer. (They only plug in one way, so the polarity can't be reversed.)
