We recommend aftermarket power to drive these speakers, but even with factory power, their ultra-wide frequency response ensures a detailed, authentic sound. Innovative materials Alpine packs supreme capability into these speakers by using highly effective materials and proprietary design elements. The lightweight woofer cone, crafted from polypropylene, glass fiber, and mica materials, serves up the essential high output/low distortion sound required for high-res performance. The High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) surround brings out the best in bass by allowing maximum cone movement. Although the tweeters are protected, there is no midrange grille, so if they don't fit behind the factory tweeter grille a cover must be fabricated. Crossovers: The woofers have low-pass crossovers attached to their input terminals. Each included speaker wire has an in-line high-pass crossover; one end plugs into the woofer terminal and the other into the midrange-tweeter terminal. A second high-pass crossover is mounted on each midrange-tweeter to protect the tweeter.
