Easy and gentle application, readings every 1 minute for up to 14 days, fixes all the frustrations of using a human CGM on pets. Users should be aware any unexpected or unusual glucose readings should be verified with a Blood Glucose Meter (BGM) before considered accurate due to the possibility of the pet damaging the sensor. Users should be aware that clinical signs and a BGM should be the primary source of detection for hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, CGMs are less accurate in this range and lag behind blood glucose readings by 5-15 minutes. It is possible the pet will remove or damage the sensor before 14 days of use: The primary goal for using a CGM on a diabetic cat or dog should be for treatment, at home monitoring is a great benefit but the goal should be to get enough readings for the veterinarian to either confirm the current treatment plan or make a treatment adjustment to better regulate the pet to get glucose levels under control. Package Contents per GluCurve Pet CGM: 1 GluCurve Pet CGM 1 Single use applicator 1 Skin prep wipe Directions: We recommend the upper flank (cats and dogs), past the ribs, in a location that won’t be impacted by leg movement and generally stays flat. Using 40 blade clippers or higher, shave a small 2-inch by 1.5-inch patch of fur as close to the skin as possible. Wipe the application site with the No-Sting Skin-Prep Wipe included in the box. Allow site to dry for 30+ seconds before proceeding. Do not use glue. Unscrew and remove the bottom cap from the applicator Press the applicator firmly against the skin and push the oval button to apply the sensor. Hold for 10 seconds, then pull the applicator away from the skin. Press the sensor and the protruding adhesive pad firmly into the skin.
