A very novel ornamental plant. Ropes of red blooms trail from the 3ft. striking plant. Planting Instructions Sow seed outdoors as soon as soil can be worked. Cover seed very lightl y and keep the soil moist until all seedlings appear. For earlier flowers start seed indoors 2 to 3 weeks in advance of intended date for moving the plants to the garden. Lightly cover the seed with soil. Germinates best at at 21°C, usually in 7 to 14 days. Grow on at 18°C. These plants prefer a hot, dry location with good drainage. Feed plants weekly with 10-52-17 fertilizer and organic seaweed to encourage root development. Garden spacing 24 in. Show more
