Ambre Solide is a classical amber fixative base built around resins and vanilla with an intensely floral note dominated by floral absolutes, including jasmine and rose, and civet. Depending on environmental conditions, Ambre Solide is a solid paste or highly viscous liquid. It can be added directly to your formulas or diluted — we recommend 50% in DEP. This is the original Ambre 83 Solide of De Laire which was used in Chanel No 5 in combination with Ambreol, a balsamic vanilla base. It was also used by Ernest Beaux in Bois des Îles and by Jean Carles in Miss Dior. Due to the high content of the permitted purified musk ketone, this product can be used at up to 7% of your finished product in Europe and 40% in other countries for compliance with IFRA. NOTE: This product contains no musk xylene or other prohibited materials.
