Ambroxan is probably the most popular chemical in perfumes today. It has progressed from being dosed at 10% via the classic Fixateur base of Firmenich to being the central wood / amber material in many fragrances. Admired by many perfumers for its warm, musky-amber scent and lasting depth, it was originally developed to mimic the fragrance of natural ambergris, but has since become valued for its stable and powerful diffusion. Ambroxan adds richness, helps with projection, and acts as a strong anchor that lingers on the skin. Its dry amber quality can also enhance or extend other notes in a composition, giving a perfume both lift and persistence without overpowering more delicate ingredients. This version is our specially selected non-branded type, chosen for its wonderful sweetness and clarity but also its amazing price. This comes in flakes and is much nicer than any generic ambrox we've smelled. We also stock Orcanox™, the V. MANE Fils version of Ambroxan taking the world by storm, Firmenich's Ambrox® Super and Givaudan's wonderful Ambrofix. NOTE: Ambrofix, ambroxan, Ambrox®, Ambrox Super, and ambroxide are synonyms. They are simply different trade names for the same chemical though produced through different processes.
