This is a large shrub or small tree of open habit, with bronze-tinged young leaves turning orange and red in autumn. White flowers in short lax racemes as the leaves unfurl. Fruit is a red to dark purple-black berry, soon eaten by birds. Best grown in sun or partial shade in a moist yet well drained soil.Features: As a guide this plant can grow to 4m x 2m When planting this shrub in the open ground it is best planted with a mixture of your garden soil and a good quality Tree and Shrub Compost. If suitable for containers then we recommend John Innes No3 Compost or a good quality Multipurpose compost.
