Frequently copied, diverted, parodied, American Gothic painted by Grant Wood in 1930 is considered one of the most emblematic artworks of American art. The ambivalence of the messa ge conveyed by the canvas allows an infinite number of interpretations of this masterpiece, largely inspired by Van Eyck's “Arnolfini Couple”, an artwork particularly appreciated by Wood.
