When you've got more files than a vertical cabinet can comfortably handle — or you just prefer a piece that doubles as a low cabinet — a lateral file does the job beautifully. The Carson 2-Drawer Lateral File spreads file storage horizontally, with a flat top that's just right for a printer, a lamp, or a curated stack of books. Key Features Solid Maple Construction – Amish-built from solid maple for heirloom-quality strength and a tight, even grain Two Lateral File Drawers – Files run side-to-side rather than front-to-back, holding more per drawer than a vertical cabinet Doubles as a Surface – At 36" wide and 30" tall, the top works beautifully as a printer stand, side cabinet, or display surface Raised-Panel Drawer Fronts – Detailed in the same Carson style as the rest of the line 7 Hardware Options – Choose from 7 knob and pull finishes to match the rest of the room Coordinates with the Carson Collection – A matching Carson 5-Drawer Executive Desk, Carson 2-Drawer Writing Desk, Carson 2-Drawer File Cabinet, Carson Bookcases, and Carson Executive Desk Chair are also available Materials & Finish Options The Carson 2-Drawer Lateral File is Amish-built from solid maple, a dense North American hardwood prized for its strength, refined grain, and ability to hold a finish beautifully. Choose from the manufacturer's full lineup of Amish-applied finishes — 11 stain options designed to highlight maple's natural warmth and tight grain. Pair your finish with one of 7 collection hardware options to dial in exactly the look you want. Dimensions 36"w x 21¼"d x 30"h Availability Available in this single size. Coordinating Carson home office and bedroom pieces are also available — shop in store for finish samples. Whether you're consolidating years of paperwork or building out a working home office, the Carson 2-Drawer Lateral File gives you serious storage in a piece that fits naturally into the room. On-screen colors are intended as an approximate guide only. Our finishes are hand applied, and variations naturally occur due to individual techniques and the natural color tones in the wood. What you see on screen should not be considered an exact match to the final product — we always invite you to stop by the showroom to see finish samples in person. Price is for the lateral file only. Additional pieces sold separately.
