While the plant is most famous for its stinky flower, this bloom is rare in indoor cultivation. The leaf itself is highly divided into smaller leaflets, creating a lacy, architectural shape. This species has a seasonal growth pattern, with periods of dormancy during the winter months when it sheds its foliage. Due to its seasonal nature, Amorphophallus konjac is a unique indoor plant, offering an interesting cycle of growth and dormancy. Its preference for indirect light and manageable size during the growing period make it well-suited for indoor care, although its impressive bloom, if it occurs, may be best enjoyed from a distance due to its strong odour. Native to:Amorphophallus konjac is native to subtropical and tropical regions of East Asia, particularly in China and Japan. It naturally grows in forested areas and open spaces where it receives dappled light and a consistent supply of moisture. Water:During the active growing season (spring and summer), it requires regular watering to keep the soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged. Reduce watering significantly during its dormant period in autumn and winter, allowing the soil to dry out completely once the foliage dies back. Light:The Konjac plant prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light levels as well. Direct sunlight can scorch its leaves, so it should be kept in a spot where it receives filtered light or partial shade, similar to the conditions found on the forest floor in its native habitat. Humidity:It appreciates moderate humidity levels, around 50–60%, which are typical of most indoor environments.
