Amulet rings were important in Scandinavia before and during the Viking Age. They consisted out of a ring in which different charms and amulets were hung. The amulets had different shapes ranging from sickles and fire-steels to rings, axes and Thor's Hammers. Amulet rings have been found both in Viking Age graves and excavated living quarters.
