Amydrium medium 'Silver' is a climbing aroid that produces elongated, silvery-green leaves which develop increasingly deep fenestrations as the plant matures and ascends a support. Juvenile foliage is simple and lance-shaped, but give it a moss pole and the transformation is dramatic, with mature leaves becoming deeply pinnate and shimmering with a metallic silver overlay. It is a vigorous climber and a genuine collector plant. OriginsNative to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, Amydrium medium grows as a hemiepiphyte, starting on the forest floor before climbing into the canopy. The species is related to Monstera and Epipremnum and shares their climbing, fenestrating habit. Soil and SubstrateOur Jungle Mix provides a peat-free, well-draining blend suited to this species. Water when the top 2–3 cm of substrate is dry. Bright, indirect light brings out the strongest silver colouring and encourages fenestration.
