The title of this collection is taken from a favorite worship song that has been our cry for the past two years. And each work is the visual manifestation and physical representation of how our great God has carried us through—from the almost therapeutic process of just painting alone in my studio with truth in song washing over me to the feelings the color palette and composition evoke for me. "Anchor Holds" comes from the old hymn "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less" particularly the verse that proclaims: "When darkness hides His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace; in every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil."
