Anco Antlers – MediumThis is the whole antler rather than the halved version: one naturally shed deer antler, uncut down its length, weighing somewhere between 76g and 150g. With the hard outer wall intact, the dog has to work through it to reach the marrow, and that is exactly the point — a whole antler is the slowest chew Anco make and the one that lasts weeks rather than days.Anco collect shed antler from the ground, clean it, cut it to length and sand the ends so nothing is sharp. It is dense, virtually fat free and almost odourless, and unlike a hide chew it does not soften and go slimy while the dog is working on it.Performance & Benefits Whole antler with the outer wall intact, so it grinds down slowly rather than splitting. Medium piece at approximately 76-150g — noticeably heavier than the halved Easy Antler of the same name. Single ingredient: 100% deer antler, naturally shed and gathered, not cut from a live animal. Rich in minerals, with ash making up 55% of the analysis. Fat at 0.10%, which is why it suits dogs kept off fatty chews. Does not smell, stain or become sticky, so it can live in the dog's bed. Suitable For Committed, methodical chewers with sound teeth. Dogs that destroy softer chews in minutes and need something that lasts. Redirecting destructive chewing onto something acceptable. Dogs that need to be kept occupied on crate rest or during a long evening indoors. Not for puppies under four months, elderly dogs or dogs with dental problems, and often ignored by half-hearted chewers — the Anco Easy Antlers Medium, split to expose the marrow, works better for those. Feeding A complementary pet food for dogs, fed as a treat or reward alongside a nutritionally balanced diet. One antler per pack; offer it for supervised sessions rather than leaving it down unattended. Always provide fresh drinking water while the dog is chewing. Remove the antler once it has been reduced to a piece that could be swallowed. Composition & Analysis Composition: 100% deer antler. Analytical constituents published by Anco: protein 37%, ash 55%, fibre 2%, fat 0.10%. Approximate weight 76-150g. Each antler differs in shape, colour and density. Anco product code 1003761, barcode 5060586230050. Anco also list the standard Antlers in Small, Large and Extra Large. Care & Caution Anco's own warning: antlers are very hard and may cause tooth fractures or choking. Never leave a dog unsupervised with one. Not recommended for puppies under four months, elderly dogs, or dogs with dental issues. A whole antler is harder work than a halved one, so the fracture risk matters most here. Discard the stub when it becomes small enough to swallow.
