Anco Moo Chew – MediumA Moo Chew is milk that has been pressed and dried until it is as hard as a block of wood. There is almost nothing else in it: Anco declare 99.98% cow milk and under 0.02% sea salt. The hardness is deliberate — a dog cannot bite pieces off, so it has to scrape and lick, and that slow abrasion is where the dental benefit comes from. The Medium piece weighs approximately 46–50g. It is a vegetarian chew, which makes it useful in households that do not want dried meat in the house, and lactose is down at 1.2%, low enough that it suits most dogs that react to dairy. There is also a trick at the end: the last stub can be microwaved until it puffs into a crunchy honeycomb.Performance & Benefits 99.98% cow milk with less than 0.02% sea salt — effectively a single-ingredient chew. 66% protein with fat at 7% and calcium at 1.3%. Lactose is only 1.2%, so it is far gentler than milk itself on a dairy-sensitive dog. Very hard, so it is scraped rather than bitten, which is what gives it its dental action. Vegetarian — no meat, no hide, no smell of dried offal. The final piece can be microwaved for 40–60 seconds until it puffs into a crunchy treat, so nothing is wasted. Suitable For Medium dogs with sound adult teeth. Vegetarian households, or anyone who dislikes meat chews indoors. Dogs that need a long chew with a low fat figure. Dogs with mild dairy sensitivity, given the 1.2% lactose. Not for puppies still on milk teeth, elderly dogs, or any dog with a cracked or worn tooth — the Anco Camel Collagen Braid Medium is far softer and safer for those. Feeding Complementary pet food for dogs. Use only as part of a nutritionally balanced diet. Feed as a treat or reward only, given in supervised sessions. To puff the final piece, microwave it for 40–60 seconds depending on the power of your oven, until it swells. Let a puffed piece cool completely before giving it to your dog. Ensure fresh drinking water is always available. Composition & Analysis Composition: 99.98% cow milk, less than 0.02% sea salt. Analytical constituents published by Anco: protein 66%, fat 7%, ash 4.5%, fibre under 0.5%, calcium 1.3%, lactose 1.2%. Approximate weight 46–50g, sold as one piece. Anco product code 1003729, barcode 5060586232566. Anco publish no Omega 3 figure and make no grass-fed claim for this chew, so neither is repeated here; Anco also make a Strawberry Milkshake Cheese Bar in the same format. Care & Caution This is a very hard chew. A dog that crushes rather than scrapes can fracture a tooth on it, so it is not for heavy crunchers or for dogs with existing dental damage. A microwaved piece comes out genuinely hot and must cool completely before the dog gets near it. Take the piece away once it is small enough to be swallowed whole. Supervise the whole chewing session.
