Excellent Choice for Metallic Flooring TOP-POLY-100 can also be incorporated into decorative metallic flooring systems. A.N.E. Coatings lists coverage of approximately: 150 square feet per 2-gallon kit for metallic floors. The product can be colored or combined with compatible liquid or powder pigments, giving flooring contractors flexibility when creating decorative flooring designs. Metallic flooring is commonly used in: Showrooms Restaurants Retail stores Offices Salons Residential interiors Entertainment spaces Commercial facilities Decorative concrete applications UV-Resistant Polyaspartic Topcoat One of the major advantages of an aliphatic polyaspartic coating is improved resistance to UV exposure compared with many traditional epoxy coatings. A.N.E. TOP-POLY-100 is specifically formulated as a UV-resistant floor topcoat and provides non-yellowing performance with good gloss retention. This makes it especially useful for flooring systems where sunlight or UV exposure may be a concern. Potential applications include: Garages Entryways Commercial spaces Workshops Warehouses Showrooms Covered exterior environments where appropriate Areas exposed to sunlight through doors or windows Always follow the manufacturer's technical requirements when evaluating the coating for a particular environment. Excellent Chemical and Solvent Resistance Industrial and commercial floors are frequently exposed to cleaners, oils, chemicals, solvents, and other substances that can damage lower-performance coatings. A.N.E. TOP-POLY-100 is engineered to provide superior chemical and solvent resistance, making it suitable for demanding commercial and industrial applications. The manufacturer's listed primary applications include: Aircraft hangar floors Maintenance facilities Industrial workshop floors Car washes and wash bays Secondary containment Offshore platforms Cooling towers Bridges Wastewater treatment applications Marine protection for concrete, fiberglass, steel, and wood Abrasion and Wear Resistance Floor coatings in garages, warehouses, workshops, and industrial facilities must withstand repeated foot traffic, wheeled equipment, carts, machinery, and general wear. TOP-POLY-100 provides excellent weather and abrasion resistance, helping maintain the appearance and protective properties of the finished floor under demanding conditions. This makes the coating well suited for: Garage floors Automotive shops Manufacturing facilities Warehouses Maintenance areas Commercial floors Equipment rooms Service facilities Industrial shops Long Working Time Many fast-curing coating systems can be challenging to install because installers have limited time to mix, pour, spread, and back-roll the product. A.N.E. TOP-POLY-100 is designed as a long-working-time polyaspartic, providing installers additional time to properly apply and finish the coating. The manufacturer's technical data lists a pot life of approximately 40–50 minutes at 25°C / 77°F for the tested quantity. Actual working and curing times can vary based on temperature, humidity, batch size, substrate temperature, and jobsite conditions. Easy 1:1 Mixing Ratio A.N.E. TOP-POLY-100 uses a straightforward 1:1 mix ratio by volume. The manufacturer's technical data specifies: Component A : Component B = 1:1 by volume 100:107 by weight Two-component coating system A simple mix ratio can make measuring and batching easier for professional installers working on larger flooring projects. For proper mixing, A.N.E. recommends mixing the individual components before combining them, then blending Parts A and B with a low-speed drill and paddle mixer. Concrete Surface Preparation Proper surface preparation is essential for the performance of any professional floor coating system. For existing concrete, A.N.E. recommends mechanical preparation methods such as: Diamond grinding Shot blasting Sandblasting Oil, grease, curing compounds, sealers, waxes, and other contaminants should be completely removed before coating. The manufacturer also specifies that the coating should not be applied to wet substrates. Diamond grinding is a popular preparation method because it removes weak surface material while creating a mechanical profile that helps the coating bond to the concrete. New Concrete Requirements New concrete should be properly cured and prepared before installing the coating. A.N.E. specifies that new concrete should cure for at least 30 days before application. The manufacturer also recommends mechanical preparation to remove laitance created during concrete placement and finishing. Cracks, spalls, holes, and other imperfections should be repaired before applying the coating system. Primer Recommendations A.N.E. strongly recommends the use of ANE-CLEAR-3 primer before applying TOP-POLY-100 over concrete. Priming can help: Seal porous concrete Improve coating adhesion Reduce outgassing Create a more uniform substrate Improve overall coating-system performance Porous concrete may require additional primer depending on surface conditions. Application Method After the surface has been properly prepared and the two components mixed, A.N.E. recommends applying the material as a thin, uniform layer using a rubber squeegee followed by a roller to create an even finish. Puddling should be avoided. Typical application tools may include: Mixing drill Mixing paddle Measuring containers Rubber squeegee Floor coating roller Extension pole Spiked shoes Appropriate personal protective equipment Always follow the current technical and safety data sheets before installation. Application Conditions Jobsite conditions can significantly affect coating performance. A.N.E. lists the following application restrictions: Minimum substrate temperature: 59°F / 15°C Maximum substrate temperature: 86°F / 30°C Maximum relative humidity: 85% Substrate moisture content below 4% Protect the coating from humidity, condensation, and water during the first 24 hours of cure Checking substrate moisture, ambient temperature, humidity, and floor temperature before installation helps prevent coating failures. 2-Gallon Professional Floor Coating Kit A.N.E. TOP-POLY-100 is available as a 2 U.S. gallon kit, making it suitable for residential garages, commercial flooring jobs, decorative concrete projects, and other professional installations. The convenient kit size allows contractors to calculate the number of kits needed according to the flooring system being installed. Manufacturer-listed coverage: Flake floor systems: approximately 400 sq. ft. per 2-gallon kit Metallic floor systems: approximately 150 sq. ft. per 2-gallon kit Actual coverage can vary depending on substrate porosity, application thickness, aggregate broadcast, texture, installation technique, and project conditions. Common Applications A.N.E. TOP-POLY-100 is suitable for a wide variety of coating applications, including: Garage floor coatings Decorative flake floors Metallic floors Epoxy flooring systems Commercial flooring Industrial flooring Automotive shops Warehouses Workshops Aircraft hangars Maintenance facilities Car washes Wash bays Manufacturing facilities Secondary containment areas Marine environments Concrete protection systems Polyaspartic vs. Epoxy Topcoats Epoxy coatings remain popular for primers, build coats, and decorative flooring systems, but aliphatic polyaspartic coatings are often selected as the final wear coat when increased UV stability, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, and gloss retention are desired. A typical professional flooring system may combine several different coating technologies, such as: Epoxy primer Epoxy or polyaspartic base coat Decorative flake or metallic system Polyaspartic clear topcoat TOP-POLY-100 can serve as the high-performance protective layer within compatible A.N.E. flooring systems.
