Serious violinmaking includes to use this Inox violin shaped ring to maintain the tops flat glueing surface. This flat shape needs to be kept during the fitting and the glueing pro cess as otherwise the initial desired "pressure" would cause exactly the opposite. The bass bar needs to be fitted and glued to the top and not the top to the bass bar. Made near Cremona out of italiana Inox; thickness 4mm; weight 630 gr Violin 3 kg Cello I tried them all; made them out of plywood, aluminum, plexiglas and 2mm thin inox to safe but this is the only one great to work with.
